Basecamp Single Burner Stove: A Rugged and Ready Outdoor Cooking Companion

Okay, so I’m a bit of an outdoorsy type. Whether it’s camping in the mountains or just grilling at a tailgate, I’m always searching for cooking gear that can keep up. Recently, I got my hands on the Basecamp F235825 single burner stove, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer.

Right off the bat, this thing feels tough. Forget those wobbly cast iron stoves – the angle iron construction here is seriously heavy-duty. I’m talking “toss it in the truck and don’t worry about it” kind of tough.

But how does it actually cook? I took it on a weekend camping trip to find out. Setting it up was a piece of cake, thanks to those adjustable legs. Seriously, trying to cook on uneven ground is the worst, but this stove leveled out perfectly, no problem. Huge win for my early morning pancake ambitions!

And the burner? Whoa. This little guy cranks out 15,000 BTUs, which means it heats up fast. I had coffee water boiling in no time. Plus, the cooktop design seems to really help with even heat distribution. I actually noticed less black soot on my pots and pans afterward, which is a welcome change. I even managed to simmer a pot of chili without turning it into charcoal – a major victory in my book.

Now, I gotta be honest, it’s not perfect. My biggest gripe? You have to buy the hose and regulator separately. Seriously, Basecamp, throw us a bone here! It’s just a bit annoying to have to make an extra trip to the store. Also, the control knob and frame can get a little toasty after a while, so watch your fingers.

But all in all, the Basecamp F235825 is a fantastic little stove. It’s built like a tank, cooks like a champ, and is super easy to use. So, if you need a reliable burner for camping, tailgating, or just cooking outdoors, this one’s definitely worth a look.

Bottom line: If you’re after a rugged, powerful, and easy-to-use single burner, the Basecamp gets my thumbs up.
